Motopark to host WEC Canadian Enduro Championship rounds 7-8

For Immediate Release, World Enduro Canada, March 30, 2011

Historic racing venue Motopark, in Chatsworth, ON, will host the final two rounds of the 2011 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship September 17 & 18. Rounds 7 and 8 of the CEC series, these races will also be scored as rounds 3 and 4 of the four-round WEC Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship . Motopark, with its long history of hosting Canadian National and FIM World Championship Motocross events, is now moving into the Enduro world!

The Canadian Enduro Championship course will utilize the entire Motopark facility. Their world class motocross track will be used for the MX Special test and a special Extreme test will be constructed utilizing a combination of natural technically challenging terrain and man made obstacles. A virgin piece of hilly property adjacent to the Motopark facility will used for the Enduro test and transfer trail sections.

All of the special test sites will be located close to the Motopark clubhouse so spectators will have an easy walk to see all the action. The clubhouse has a restaurant and washroom facilities, making it a great place to bring the family to enjoy a great day of racing. The two CEC rounds at Motopark will indeed be something very, very special!

Racing will start at 9am both days and end around 3pm. On Sunday we encourage everyone to stick around to watch the 2011 Canadian Enduro Champions being crowned.  We will be awarding the National Championship titles, as well as the Inside Moto X & Off Road Magazine Eastern Canadian Enduro Champions!

For this event World Enduro Canada is very pleased to welcome the assistance of one of our partners , the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders, who will be providing trail marshalls. The OFTR is a very important organization who have played a big role in opening (and keeping land open!) for off road motorcycle recreation. The OFTR and their volunteer riders will be making sure the competitors and spectators are safe.

Motopark’s pleasant camping facilities will be available for the CEC weekend, and special hotel rates in nearby Owen Sound will be announced soon.
