Honda’s Jason Schrage ready for Xtinction and CEC

CEC series leader Jason Schrage sent Offroadmotorcycles.ca this quick update about his preparations for Xtinction!

I’ve been doing some final preps for the Xtinction race this weekend, which includes trying to get some rest so I am ready to lift and carry my bike around for four hours. More importantly I just got finished with Ian McKill from Riders Edge Suspension, who totally amazed me. I sent my suspension to his shop in Vernon, B.C. When he sent it back it was better but not perfect, so Ian packed up his trailer and made a nine-hour trip to my house in Alberta and spent two days of his time to make it perfect! It is amazing, and so was the service! You don’t get that too often when a company isn’t happy with merely ‘better’, and perfect is the only option. To drive nine hours to ensure perfection is unheard of! Ian came right to my house where we worked on my practice track, then today we went to the mountains to make sure it was perfect there as well.

I cant thank Ian from Riders Edge suspension enough, and would encourage anyone with any suspension needs to talk to him. I know how far he is willing to go to make a bike work perfectly! Other than that I think I am ready for Xtinction. I am hoping to have a weekend with no trouble and put in a good ride. I am pretty nervous about how tough its going to be, especially when you add the element of 30+ degrees C weather and having to race two hours on Saturday for the Alberta CMRC series points and then Sunday for four more hours. I think I will be pretty tired Sunday night…

I think this weekend will be a fun one…when it’s over…
